Using All Ten Fingers

Touch Typing

This comprehensive course focuses on learning the QWERTY keyboard thoroughly to prepare you for more advanced skill building techniques. Once you master the basic skills, you’ll become faster and more confident at typing. By the end of the course, you’ll know how to touch-type the alphabetic and symbol keys and be ready to take the timed writing tests and skill building exercises. Students receive a certificate verifying w.p.m. typing speed and accuracy upon completion. This course is self-paced, but timed-written tests are monitored by the instructor.
Word Processing

Microsoft Office Word

Level 1, 2 and 3 provides thorough introductory training of Word 2013. This course covers beginning-level skills, and is ideal for the newer computer user who wants to become well versed in Word. Topics introduced include:

  • Interface Orientation
  • Formal / Informal / Report Creation
  • Bulleted and numbered lists / Table Creation

Micosoft Office Excel

This course is intended for people who have a basic understanding of Microsoft Windows and want to know how to use Outlook to manage their time and information. In this course student learn the basic features of Outlook and use them to create and manage the following:

  • Meetings
  • Tasks and notes.
Using the Internet

Internet Research & E-Mailing

This section is designed to help students to:

  • Understand the concept of the Internet and the opportunity to gain an understanding of how the World Wide Web works. Students will become proficient in using the Internet Explorer browser, learn to search, find and access information on the Web using a variety of different tools.
  • Use the e-mail and scheduling application Microsoft Outlook. Students will learn to send and receive e-mails, use the Address Book as well as the Calendar to arrange appointments, meetings and events.

My vision and aspiration is to introduce a Graphics application together with website and blogging design basics in the near future. Opportunities also exist for off-site computer training to students at external locations.
